Some basic synth programing techniques will help you to get that deep bass sound characteristic of Drum N Bass, Garage, Hip Hop etc..

If you want that Dubby style bass that you often find in Drum'n'Bass and Garage don't use complex "Tone stacks"(ie. more than two waveforms in a patch). just one simple waveform will usually do. The trick is to use an uncomplex waveform sound. Complex basses are ok as lead sounds but don't do justice on the bottom end as they can lack the raw flavour.

Take a Saw Wave for instance, and bring the LPF filter down to about 30-40 and add a bit of Resonance - 20.
